Celestial Autumn wedding at Blackfriars Priory
As requested on instagram - Bryony & Alex’s autumn, celestial wedding at Blackfriars priory in Gloucester!
A completely unique day pretty much all DIY designed and crafter by the couple, their families or loved ones. Even Bryony’s dress was an original design!!
I’ve known Bry for a good few years now through a mutual friend and so when it was time for her to start planning her own wedding she reached out to me even before they had set a date (obviously I was thrilled to be involved!) Especially as she mentioned all their initial ideas and autumnal inspiration. Originally set as a twilight wedding the couple soon realised that there was just too much fun to fit into half a day so the twinkling celestial theme stayed but the celebration got super-sized!
The day started with full autumn sunshine over Gloucester as the pair got ready together with the kids and friends. There was champagne, home-made brownies, giggles and even a surprise dress reveal from their good pal 😂 (check the photos). The awesome eccentric apartment made for a great prep space for photos and a great opportunity to bag some couples photos ahead of all the celebrations!
When we arrived at Blackfriars all guests had arrived and were ready for the festivities, surrounded by all that amazing architecture and DIY decor that Bry & Al worked so hard on. The ceremony was written and delivered by Bryony’s sister and the pair enjoyed a pint of cider to seal the “I Do!” The rest of the afternoon was filled with many a cuddle and candid whilst everyone enjoyed the cosy food, live music and a mulled cider or two.
As that late autumn sun began to set, the couple and their guests gathered for the evening meal and speeches which included both wedding cake AND birthday cake for the bride! We finished out the night with the Scottish tradition of a Ceilidh, a personal favourite of mine as it’s sure to get everyone involved and some seriously good dance floor pics!
So what do you think guys, is this not the epitome of a feel-good autumn wedding or what?!
