Spring time in Wales! A very welsh wedding at Llechwen Hall
You want a Welsh AF wedding? Ok, let’s see what i’ve got:
Sheep, yep. Daffodils, of course. Rolling green hills and valleys, you bet, lovespoons, Oh boy do I! Rugby bucket hats, OH YA. Welsh cakes, do you even have to ask?! And golden hour light pretty much all day - yes my friends, Bethan & Wes ticked every box when it came to celebrating their very Welsh wedding…..despite the groom being English!
I wanted to share this glorious spring time wedding from last year (2025) because even though it embodies a lot of ‘classical’ features that you might not always see a lot of on my feed, it really does ring true to what weddings should be about - having fun, including what you love and making it about what’s important to you!
For Beth and Wes this was all about keeping it fresh, simple and keeping it close to home. When I met up with the guys and their dog Alan before the wedding for their engagement session, Bethan told me all about her love for her hometown and all the memories of growing up in the Welsh valleys. She knew it had to play an important part of their wedding celebrations which led to them choosing their venue as well as the florals and of course that Welsh cake tower. And the timing of the wedding, perfect spring sunshine, daffodils and lambs, perfect! The guys teamed this strong base theme with uncomplicated decisions, including small details for their dog (see if you can spot them) and including their friends in the set up.
The whole day just felt effortless, with the sun shining and everyone just so relaxed and happy. Other than nipping of for a couple of 10 minute periods for some groups and couples photos the day was spent candidly from prep to dance floor - exactly what we love over here, am I right!? Iechyd da!!
