Relaxed outdoor extravaganza at Dragons Gate! - Vicki & Jade
Almost a year ago now, I had the most amazing day at Vicki and Jade’s wedding, and I think it’s about time I share it with you!
A day full of firsts for me as well as beautiful outdoor spaces, brilliant people and an atmosphere infused with a festival vibe! Vicki & Jade’s wedding will forever be a stand out moment for me for how they decided to truly embrace the elements of weddings that they wanted and throw the old outdated traditions that didn’t ring true to their relationship out of the window!
Here is a list of my top 5 favourite ways they made their own traditions:
No “giving away”. In fact they created an aisle of their family of friends and led them all through the fields of their venue in celebratory parade to the ceremony space.
They chose an outdoor ceremony weather regardless (and it worked out!)
They didn’t wait for a dance floor just in the evening - we danced in the sunshine just like a festival.
They honoured the love that helped shape them and supported them.
They allowed for plenty of time and space for people to just enjoy themselves, relax and play!
After a morning of preparations surrounded by their friends the pair came together for celebrant (and friend) led ceremony who brought such a personal touch, and you could feel the love and excitement in the air!
Post ceremony the day was filled with good vibes, music, sunshine, looooads of ice cream and a fair few cocktails! As live music filled the space, and it wasn’t long before guests were on their feet, dancing like nobody was watching. The laughter and joy were infectious! - who needs formalities when you can dance under the sun, right? Just watching everyone let loose was a real highlight for me! It was all about fun and spontaneity, and you could see that everyone was there to celebrate with the girls in their own unique way. It’s what it’s all about!
As the sun started to set and the pizza ovens fired up, I finished my time on the day with the BEST goddamn golden hour of my career! (I’m not exaggerating!) And then sent them off to dance the night away!
Vicky and Jade’s day was nothing short of extraordinary. It reminded me once again why I absolutely adore capturing these moments - each wedding brings its own magic, and this one was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and celebration! And of course, completely in your own way! 💛
